An Embarrassment to the people of Arizona
New York Magazine Intelligencer, Tom Zoellner, August 5, 2021 – What Is Kyrsten Sinema’s Deal?
Kyrsten Sinema is WRONG. “The Constitution lays out the specific cases where a supermajority of senators must agree on something, such as ratifying a treaty or removing a president or judge from office. Beyond that, the assumption is that a majority will rule.” 1
In 2020, Sinema signed a letter in support of the Equal Rights Act that was sent to then-majority leader Mitch McConnell. However, her strong support for the filibuster means that it is unlikely that the act will pass. SHAMEFUL

- Why I Quit Advising Kyrsten Sinema
“Progressives like US Air Force veteran Sylvia González Andersh fight on the ground each and every day to make our nation and our democracy stronger. In Arizona, Sylvia and her peers are doing all that they can to bring Senator Krysten Sinema back into our corner so we can abolish the filibuster.” – Common Defense
- New Republic, Matt Ford, February 25, 2021 – Kyrsten Sinema’s Self-Defeating, Nonsensical Defense of the Filibuster – The Arizona senator is almost single-handedly keeping Democrats from wielding their majority power—and the party may well lose that power as a result.
- Krysten Sinema: Corruption?
“For a republican democracy to actually work, average citizens with a passion for making their country better must be able to run for public office without needing wealthy or powerful patrons; this is a concept that dates back to Aristotle’s rants on the topic. And Sinema was, in the beginning, just that sort of person. But I’m getting ahead of myself…” 2

- The Equality Act
LBGTQ Nation, John Gallagher, February 25, 2021 – Will enough Republican senators sign onto the Equality Act for it to pass? Probably not. Thanks to arcane Senate rules, Democrats need ten Republican votes to pass the Equality Act. That’s a very tall order.
